SEO Audits are boring and the term seems to be overused, but a good audit that looks at On-Page factors, keywords, traffic and content is essential to putting together the right plan going forward.  You can fix what you don’t know is broken.  Step 1 = A good SEO Audit.

After you identify and fix what you can, it’s time to build.  What can you build?  Here is a short list of things you can build that will improve your website traffic:

 

  • Local Business Citations
  • Content relevant to your business, industry and location
  • Rich Media content, videos, and other visitor worthy information
  • Backlinks to your website from other relevant sources to the above content production
  • Reviews and Testimonials
  • Social Media Exposure

In the SEO Biz, it’s not “Build it and they will come”, it’s “Build it, Rank for it, and the Search Engines will bring them to you!”

Control what you are building, track your progress and make adjustments when necessary.  This is an area that hurts more projects that start out strong, but don’t achieve the results they could.  All 3 of these parts are necessary to achieve optimum results, and you have to work through all of them to win.
